Britain’s renewable energy market is booming as solar panel deliveries surge

According to statistics from Shiply, Britons moved 60% more solar panels in 2022 compared to 2021, with the trend over the last five years reaching a staggering growth of 285%, illuminating a significant public push for renewable energy.

While the government is working to achieve the UK’s pledge of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, some Britons have chosen to take matters into their own hands. In the current cost of living crisis, many people are turning to renewable energy sources in an effort to not only benefit the environment and lessen their carbon footprint, but also in an effort to try and lower their energy bills. With 60% more delivery orders in 2022 than in 2021, solar panels are the most popular renewable energy source for consumers, outpacing the average growth of 25% each year since 2017.

Shiply’s founder, Robert Matthams, said that “with energy bills as high as they are at the moment, and public consciousness focused heavily on the climate crisis, it is no surprise to see a steady increase in the moving and purchasing of renewable energy sources such as solar panels. I expect to see an even greater increase in public interest over the next few years.”

Since 2008, millions of customers have used Shiply, which enables users to submit their delivery orders on the website and obtain price quotations from various transport companies and services.
